Citra Solv to the Rescue!

When the Onset, MA Fire Department responded to a 5 Alarm fire at the old Ocean Spray Cranberry Company Freezer, the area was covered in thick, black smoke. Fortunately, there were no major injuries and the fire was safely contained and extinguished, but one casualty was the department ladder truck – it was covered in soot. The smoke from the fire contained a large amount of asphalt residue, which made the fire engines soiled and grimy.

Everyone knows how important it is to keep a clean machine – especially fire department vehicles, -- but the firefighters could not seem to get the oily dirt off the ladder truck, no matter how hard they tried, and how many cleaners they used.

Until one intrepid fireman suggested Citra Solv, his wife’s preferred cleaning product.

Asphalt residue contains petroleum, which is easily targeted and ecologically removed by Citra Solv. It’s tough to impress a team of firefighters who have seen some amazing sights in their lifetimes, but the effectiveness of the Citra Solv on their firetruck had them awestruck. They “fired away,” and the dirt came right off. It seems the newest piece of equipment in the Onset FD’s arsenal is a bottle of Citra Solv.
